Therapy for Neurological, Balance, and Cerebellar conditions
Sensory learning provides fun structured rehabilitation programs designed to improve utilise the brains neuro-plasticity. For example we provide exercise programs that improve the balance system by targeting the processing of the cerebellum, cerebellar pathways, motor cortex and vestibular nuclei.
Sensory learning is able to provide programs for children and adults with a variety of diagnoses and symptoms that relate to Balance. For example; Ataxia and Ataxic disorders such as Saccade Initiation Failure (Ocular Motor Apraxia), some forms of Ataxic or Hypo-tonic Cerebral Palsy and Cerebellar conditions such as Cerebellar Hypoplasia. Many researchers believe that inefficient cerebellar processing not only effects balance and co-ordination, but is also the underlying cause of some cases of some reading and spelling difficulties, concentration and social skill related learning difficulties and some emotional regulation difficulties. (Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and ADD symptoms).
We are now providing services to the greater west and are located in Springwood at the base of the Blue Mountains.
Our clinical staff are registered nurses with paediatric expertise and certification in vestibular rehabilitation therapy.
We assist those with cerebellar processing problems such as Cerebellar Hypoplasia or Ataxia.
